Countdown: Day 3: Running Community

I'm exactly 3 days until the Aramco Houston Half Marathon. I'm pumped about it! I'm going to try as much as time allows me to do a countdown blog posting of what's on my mind.

Today we are talking about running community.

The running culture is amazing. When I first decided to start prepping myself for the marathon this summer I found out that I was joining a club where their was going to be supporters. I wasn't going to have to do this on my own.

I'm suprised when i'm on my own during a run and guy will come by me and encourage me to keep going.

I fell the other day when it was really dark and got back up and the guys 100 yards back that were pacing faster than me came up and asked me if I was okay.

I know that although I don't know but about 2-3 people that are racing the Aramco Half-Marathon. I'm still going to have someone to talk to for the 2 1/2 hours I'm running this race. I'm pumped about that big time!

Meeting other "Clydesdales" like myself. There are guys out there running that tip near 300 lbs. The running community doesn't discriminate. WHo cares that I can run a twice as slow! The community doesn't!
